The Events

Two Battles. One Day.

🏈
7-on-7 Passing
Pass-only · No rush · Touch

Every play is a forward pass. The QB has 4 seconds, the offense has 3 downs to move zones, and it's all decided by touch — no tackling, no blocking, no blitz.

  • 4-sec QB clock
  • 3 downs per zone
  • TD = 6, INT = 3
  • 40-yd field
🛡️
5v5 Lineman 1-on-1

Trench warfare, one-on-one. Five O-linemen vs five D-linemen, one rep at a time — pass set vs pass rush, 4 seconds to win the rep. No double teams, no help.

  • 1v1 reps only
  • 4-sec timer
  • 2-ft splits
  • No double teams
The Rulebook

Official Rules

Everything's here — tap a section to open the full rule set. Officials' judgment is final.

🏈 7-on-7 Passing Rules Tap to open

Field of Play

  • The field is 40 yards long plus a traditional end zone.
  • Zone 1 (25–40 yd): 3 downs to gain a first down.
  • Zone 2 (10–25 yd): 3 downs to gain a first down.
  • Zone 3 — Redzone (0–10 yd): 3 downs to score.
  • The ball is placed at the hash mark of the yard line gained.

Players & Alignment

  • 7 players on the field per team — max 5 eligible receivers + QB + center (OC).
  • The center may only snap; no players behind the offense.
  • No throwbacks to the QB — the QB must throw the ball.

Game Format & Clock

  • Each game is 20 minutes on a running clock; warnings at 5 min, 2 min, and 30 sec.
  • Games run every half hour with a 10-minute break between rounds.
  • Each team plays 3 games; the tournament kicks off at 9:00 AM (weather may shift the schedule).
  • 25-second play clock — exceeding it is a loss of down.
  • The shotgun snap starts a 4-second count; ball not out in time = sack.

Offense (Playing Rules)

  • Passing-only. No laterals, no double passes, no run plays.
  • No blocking — loss of down, ball spotted at the block.
  • No fumbles: play is dead, ball spotted at the fumble. A dropped QB snap is the exception — play continues, no rush.
  • Sack = loss of down. Ball must release within 4 seconds of the snap.
  • A catch needs control with one foot in bounds; play is dead at the touch.

Defense & Contact

  • No rush, no blitz, no tackling. Physical play may result in ejection.
  • Down by one-hand touch below the shoulders only.
  • Press / bump only within 5 yards of the line, with a 2-yard cushion, below the shoulders — no hands to the head or face.
  • Defensive holding = pass interference → offense gets the next zone.
  • Unnecessary roughness = automatic first down (½ distance in Zone 3) + new downs; excessive force may bring suspension.
  • Interception: dead ball — defense takes over at the 40 and earns 3 points (not on extra points).

Starting the Game & Safety

  • A horn signals the start; all games start and end on the game manager's clock.
  • Each team captain must attend the pre-game officials' meeting.
  • The coin-toss winner chooses offense or defense.
  • Cleats recommended. A serious injury requiring an EMT ends the game with the current score.
🛡️ 5v5 Lineman 1-on-1 Rules Tap to open

Core Concept

  • 5 offensive linemen vs 5 defensive linemen — strictly 1v1, one pair at a time.
  • Pass blocking / pass rush only — no run blocking, no run defense.
  • No ball movement, no QBs, no receivers. No double teams, no chipping, no group blocking.
  • Outcome is decided purely by individual pass-protection vs pass-rush wins.
  • Cleats required. Mouthpieces required.

Game Format

  • Sequential 1v1 reps only — one pair at a time; non-active linemen stand still in position and may not assist, chip, or move.
  • All five linemen get equal reps (typically 2 reps on offense and 2 on defense per full rotation).
  • Offensive line splits: 2 feet between players.
  • Players rotate through positions (LT → LG → C → RG → RT) for fairness.

How a Rep Works

  • The O-lineman sets in a 2-point or 3-point stance. The rep begins on his first movement, starting a 4-second timer.
  • Offense (pass block): keep proper set, hand placement, and leverage to stop the defender from reaching the simulated QB (bag/cone/zone 5–7 yards behind the line).
  • Defense (pass rush): beat the blocker with legal moves and touch the QB bag/zone within 4 seconds.
  • The rep ends when the timer hits 4 seconds or the bag is touched.

Legal & Banned

✅ Legal

  • Set-and-punch with open hands to the chest
  • Hand-fighting to keep separation
  • Rip, swim, and club moves
  • Mirroring footwork, leverage, pad level

🚫 Banned

  • No tackling, punching, or spearing
  • No helmet-to-helmet or blows to the head
  • No hands to the face / grabbing the collar
  • No holding, takedowns, or excessive force

Key Rules & Safety

  • No penalties for minor issues — keep the event flowing. Station officials' calls are final.
  • Coaches may call cadence but must stay off the field.
  • Matches continue through the rotations until all reps are complete.
  • Cleats and mouthpieces mandatory. Soft-shell helmets/headgear strongly recommended.
  • Excessive or dirty play = immediate ejection.
